His left ear was torn off by a Mightyena, enraged by Rogue's threatening actions towards her litter. He gained three jagged scars on the ankle of his left foot after a similarly vicious encounter with a Weavile, provoked to battle by Rogue's invasion of its territory. Finally, his right arm was badly singed by a Houndoom whom Rogue had challenged, after the tussle between them got out of control. As it is spoken in legend, the pain of the Houndoom's singeing attack has never truly gone away, perhaps accounting for Rogue's cranky personality.
